Bullying Traits

You are a BULLY if you do these things:

name-calling
deliberately leaving someone out
teasing
threat people with physical violence
making people feel frightened
putting people down
spreading rumors
playing dirty tricks
mocking
leaving people out/ignoring

Facts about Bullying:

Bully/victim patterns can be established within 6 weeks of the school year
Physical bullying increases through elementary years and peeks in Junior High School
Bullying can occur regularly and in seconds
The most effective deterrent to bullying is intervention of adult authority

When does conflict become bullying?

An imbalance of power occurs
Negative actions that occur over and over
When conflicts occurs on purpose
Serious threats are made
Emotional reactions are extremely strong
When there is no remorse
No effort to solve the conflict
